Mantra & Silence

Songs from Silence – Meditations on sound and silence, with multi-part mantra chanting

We must bear silence before we can feel in our bodies the deep joy of what the world is always already singing to us.

Just as sounds have a tone, so too does listening. The tone of our listening conditions the sounds we hear: the way we listen matters. What if we could listen to both sound and silence with the whole of our bodies, with the fullness of our being? What might we hear? The cries of the world? The voices of the Buddhas? The sound of Awakening?

In this full-day session with Mokshayogin and Jo Spence, we will gently invite a listening tone imbued with loving kindness and compassion. We will meditate on sound and silence, work and play with tones in the body, and learn beautiful mantras in three- and four-part harmony which we will chant together in ritual. All welcome.
