The Buddha discovered what it means to fulfil human potential - developing compassion, awareness and wisdom without limit. Anyone’s life can be enriched by practising what he taught. Through meditation you can learn to cultivate a clear, peaceful and positive mind. Exploration of the teachings of the Buddha offer not so much a philosophy as a deep change of heart. Most of our events are open to everyone. You can drop into a mediation class, visit your yoga studio, sign up for a course exploring the teachings of the Buddha or break out of your usual routines and gain a fresh perspective on your life by joining one of our retreats.

Before long, if you come along regularly you’ll find yourself part of an open, friendly and diverse community. Some are ordained Buddhists with several decades of deep experience, others are on the Buddhist path, but many are just here to explore, and to meet people with shared values of awareness and compassion. We welcome people of any ethnicity, nationality, gender identity or sexual orientation to come and explore with us what the teachings of the Buddha have to offer.

Established in 1993, we are an independent charity (Charity reg: 801632), led by members of the Triratna Buddhist Order, housed in a lovely building on Holloway Road with great transport links. There’s a bookshop in the comfortable reception area, two shrine rooms, a bodywork studio, three treatment rooms, and several meeting rooms.

The spirit of generosity

In the Buddhist spirit of generosity - known as ‘dana’ - most of our Buddhism and meditation teachers give their time and enthusiasm for free, as do our many volunteers and anyone who contributes to a class. We aim to make our activities as accessible as we can, but it’s costly to maintain our facilities and to give our team basic financial support. We do therefore charge for some events, but we try to keep the rates as affordable as possible. And we invite everyone who attends any of our events to join with the spirit of generosity of our teachers by donating what they can to help us stay afloat. We also welcome regular standing orders so please do consider filling in a standing order and gift aid form here, or make a single donation below. Many thanks!
